Advisory Council
The Advisory Council supports the work of the A12AA by connecting with the communities to understand and promote the issues facing older adults living in the four counties we serve. The 26-member Advisory Council assists A12AA staff in shaping the Area Plan, setting goals, and carrying out the objectives. There are several openings for members in each county.
The Advisory Council meets regularly the 3rd Monday of every other month from 10:00 – 12:00. Please check the Event Calendar page. Meetings are open to the public and take place in Tuolumne County.
The Council is strengthened by the diversity of its membership. Four counties are represented, thus broadening the Council’s capacity to serve and benefit the entire adult age 60+ population of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne Counties. One of the most useful functions of the Advisory Council is to gather and distribute information. An effective Council is made up of both consumers of services and representatives of agencies who deliver services to the age 60+ community.
